When I get bored, I’m all about surfing the internet. I mean, when I go to Google, good luck trying to stop me. But, I hate those sites that are always a disappointment. Everyone’s been to them. The sites that suck in both appearance and content, but then want you to tell other people about their site. I mean, I would, and I am, but it’s not in a positive way.
The sad part is, not everyone that has a website should have a website. So, I’ve created a rating system that might help you when searching the internet. It’s called the ‘if it’s hidden on Google, then it’s not a good site’ system. It’s pretty easy to work, too.
You see, if you have to go through 10 Google pages just to get to the listing, then it’s not a good site. If I understand anything about Google, it’s that pages are rated by a special tool called (wouldn’t you believe it) Page Rank (or Google Rank). What happens is, the more popular a site is, the higher it’ll appear in the eyes of Google.
Remember that joke that ran a while back? Where when you Googled Miserable Failure, George W. Bush’s biography came up? Well, that’s called a Google Bomb, where people can alter the page rank of a website by searching and clicking on it. It’ll then slowly rise to the top of the Google Results.
But back to the matter at hand, web sites are bi-polar. They say one thing in the Google Search Description, and then when you click on them their ugly, tacky, and have no purpose (whether to play games, watch videos, or…dare I say it…do homework).
That’s about all I have to say on this matter, but it’ll probably come up again when I find another site that sucks. And, if Google lies to me again, it shouldn’t be too long from now!
